Sacred Heart School mentors provide our seventh and eighth grade students the opportunity to see what it is like to be in a work atmosphere and do a job.

Students are paired with Mentors from various professions including bankers, coaches, doctors, judges, lawyers, public relations representatives, research analysts, teachers, and professionals in the Omaha business community.

The mentors

  • Meet with their students monthly
  • Spend the morning with their students in their place of work
  • Take their students to lunch
  • Reinforce the Life Skills lessons learned throughout a Sacred Heart School education.

Sacred Heart mentors find the program to be helpful, important, and fun for the children and for themselves. They often keep in contact with their students beyond eighth grade, helping them succeed through high school and into college. Most mentors enjoy the program so much that they request new students when their students graduate from the program.

If you are interested in becoming a Sacred Heart School mentor, please contact Sacred Heart School. Each mentor is screened through an interview and criminal background check. Sacred Heart girls are placed with female mentors and Sacred Heart boys are placed with male mentors.
